Autumn Self-Care Challenge

Raise your hand if you’re ready for fall! We’ve had a hot humid summer in Massachusetts, but this past weekend we got a tiny glimpse of fall with cooler temperatures and reduced humidity. The cooler temperatures sure felt good and provided a glimpse of the weather in the months to come. Our hot summer has not stopped me from recently bringing out the cozy blankets and pillows, dark wood tones, and fall candles. One of the things I love about living in New England is the change of seasons. We have four distinct seasons in the northeast with each one short and fleeting. I have not always appreciated the change of seasons, but as I get older or maybe as time seems to go by faster, I have come to appreciate each season for the beauty and uniqueness each one holds. Fall is especially beautiful in New England. Trees change from shades of green to vibrant shades of orange, red, yellow, and browns. Cranberry bogs become flooded and turn a stunning shade of red as the cranberries float in the water ready to be harvested. Local farm stands have an abundance of pumpkins, mums, apples, and cornstalks. The warm humid air of summer is replaced with the crisp cool air of fall. And, families gather around their tv’s on Sunday to watch football (go Patriots!) while eating comfort food.

I recently saw an autumn self-care challenge and I thought it would be fun to start/participate in something similar to help me appreciate and enjoy the upcoming season. I am challenging myself to complete one challenge (see above) each week. There are six challenges to help me take care of…me! Each one is easy to complete and I’m hoping you will join me! Wouldn’t this be fun to do together?! Lets join in this self-care challenge together and we can hold each other accountable to taking care of ourselves. Maybe for a little bit each week, we can put ourselves first instead of work, family, and other things that pop up in our lives. How can you participate? Each week choose any challenge (see above), complete that challenge (1x per week), post a picture on Instagram (post or stories), and use the hashtag #eleanorrosehome. Using the hashtag will allow us all to see pictures and posts of those that are participating in the challenge and we can cheer each other on!

This week I completed my first challenge which was, enjoy warm socks and pajamas. I decided to buy myself new cozy fall pajamas with a pair of cozy socks (you do not need to buy new ones). After work, I threw on my new PJ’s and snuggled on the couch with Eleanor. Simply putting on a new cozy, soft pair of pajamas and lounging on the couch was just what I needed to relax at the end of a hard day at work. And that is what this challenge is all about! Having fun and making sure you are taking care of you!

I hope you will join me in this autumn self-care challenge! Let’s have fun welcoming this upcoming season and take some time for ourselves to enjoy all that fall has to offer. To find the links to (most) products featured in this blog post click here: LIKEtoKNOW.it
