It’s (Almost) the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

This time of year is one of my favorites…I love the anticipation of the holidays that are coming in the months ahead! I know many of you are thinking, oh no, she is already thinking of Christmas and it isn’t even Halloween yet! Those of you thinking that…are right. I have always been someone who plans ahead and is always thinking of the future. So while everyone else is thinking about fall, my mind has already jumped to winter and the holidays. Even as a child, I remember wanting to skip right over Halloween and head right into Thanksgiving and Christmas. My sister and I would start watching Christmas movies starting October 1st (White Christmas was our favorite) and we would anxiously wait for the thick Sears or JCPenney catalogs to arrive so we could start circling what we wanted Santa to bring us. Growing up, I would also start planning the Christmas décor for my bedroom. I would move furniture around, clear shelves for new décor, and start thinking about where I wanted my little Christmas tree to go that I would wrap with a gazillion lights.

This year I feel like I need to start a little earlier with my Christmas decorations, for two reasons. One, I want to be able to share my Christmas ideas/purchases with all of you to inspire you, and for you to have enough time to purchase something similar for your home. And two, I just really want to enjoy the Christmas season for as long as possible. Last year when I was working from home (due to COVID), I loved having my Christmas decorations up in November, it made me so happy to have the twinkling glow of the Christmas lights, so I am going to continue with that this year. Another reason I love Christmas…how many holidays have their own music, movies, food, or time of year when everyone is kind and generous to one another. So, be prepared friends…my Christmas decorations are going up November 1st…are you ready?!

Below is a little sneak peak of a few items I’ve purchased this year and what I’ll be using to decorate our home this holiday. I’ll be mixing old and new elements, with lots of natural, organic touches. My goal this year for holiday décor is to keeps things simple but beautiful. I can’t wait to start decorating our home for the holidays!
