Mini cheesecake trifle with berries is a delicious, no-bake dessert that’s easy to make, fun to serve, and perfect for summer parties or Fourth of July celebrations.

These mini trifles combine so many of my favorite things, that I think this dessert is going to become not only one of my favorite desserts to make, but one of families favorite things to eat.
The summer like temperatures in New England last week (80’s in April…unheard of!) had me dreaming of days by the pool, t-shirts & flip flops, and easy summer recipes.
You know the ones…the recipes that don’t require baking, or spending long hours in the kitchen.
And of course when I think of summer, it reminds me of all things patriotic!
Well this dessert captures all of those things and feels like summer in a jar if you ask me!
It combines an easy, no bake cheesecake recipe with fresh strawberries and blueberries, making it the perfect summertime treat.
And can I just add that serving anything in a mason jar just looks and tastes better…wouldn’t you agree?!
I’ll show you how easy these fresh berry trifles are to make, assemble, and customize.
What is a trifle?
A trifle is a layered dessert.
It’s traditionally made with sponge cake, custard, fruit, and whipped cream and assembled in a clear, large glass bowl to showcase all the pretty layers.
But the best part of a trifle is how versatile it can be.
You can mix and match ingredients.
For instance, you can use cheesecake filling instead of custard or crushed cookies instead of cake.
What I love about these mini berry cheesecake trifles is that they’re a fun twist on the classic, giving you all the flavor and charm of a traditional trifle in an easy, no-bake, individually sized form.

01
Make the Graham Cracker Crust
In a medium bowl, stir together the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter until fully combined.
Use the back of a spoon to gently press a couple of tablespoons of the crust mixture into the bottom of each mason jar.
02
Prepare the Cheesecake Filling
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Add the powdered sugar and continue mixing until fully incorporated.
Mix in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the milk into the cream cheese mixture.
Gently fold in the Cool Whip (or freshly whipped cream) using a whisk to keep the filling light and fluffy.
03
Assemble the Cheesecake Trifles
To assemble, layer your ingredients in each mason jar like this:
- Start with the graham cracker crust.
- Add a layer of cheesecake filling. I found it helpful to use a ziplock baggie as a piping bag to keep the sides of the mason jars clean.
- Top with chopped strawberries
- Add another layer of cheesecake.
- Add blueberries.
- Finish with a final layer of cheesecake.
Top each mason jar trifle with blueberries and star-shaped strawberries for a festive finish.
NOTE: To cut strawberries into star shapes, slice strawberries vertically about 1/4″ thick. Take a star shaped cookie cutter and push through the sliced strawberry.

Helpful Tips
- Use store-bought graham cracker crumbs to skip a step.
- If you’re like me and love the crust, feel free to add a thicker layer…it’s the best part!
- Gently fold the Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture using a whisk to maintain that light, airy texture.
- Use a plastic baggie as a makeshift piping bag for cleaner, more precise layers inside your mason jars.
- Swap in fresh berries like raspberries, blackberries, or even peaches depending on what’s in season.
Can I make these mini trifles ahead of time?
I recommend assembling these mini cheesecake trifles the day you plan on serving them.

The berries will begin to release moisture into the cheesecake, which will end up giving you a watery dessert if you make them too far in advance.
However, you can prepare all of the ingredients separately a day or two ahead of time and then assemble.
