As we head into Thanksgiving, I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude and how easy it is to overlook the simple goodness in our everyday lives.
Before the holiday officially begins, I wanted to take a moment to slow down and share how thankful I am for you.
Your kindness, encouragement, and support mean more than you know, and I’m truly grateful you choose to spend a little bit of your time here with me.
This season can feel busy and full, but at its heart, Thanksgiving is really about noticing what we already have.
The people who make our lives richer, the little comforts that bring us joy, and the routines that ground us.
Gratitude doesn’t ask for perfection or big gestures, it just invites us to pay attention and appreciate the things we’d normally rush past.
My hope for you going into this holiday is that you find a quiet moment to reflect and let that feeling of gratitude settle in.
Wishing you a cozy, meaningful, and relaxing Thanksgiving!

1. NATIONAL TIE ONE ON DAY: Today honors a tradition that encourages people to wrap a baked good in an apron and gift it to someone who could use a little extra kindness. It’s all about spreading warmth, showing gratitude, and reminding each other that sometimes the simplest gestures can mean the most.
2. COZY TIP OF THE WEEK: Focus on gratitude not perfection. Instead of worrying about the spotless house or the picture perfect table, soak in the little things over the next couple of days like the people gathered and the food you worked hard to make.

Grab round glass or plastic ornaments, fabric scraps cut into strips, Mod Podge, and a paintbrush. Brush Mod Podge on the ornament, press on the fabric pieces, seal with more Mod Podge, and let it dry upside down. Once dry, the ornaments are ready for hanging on your Christmas tree!
8. OVER ON THE ‘GRAM: See how I effortlessly styled one of our entryways for the holiday season.
9. WEEKLY MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
“Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.”

1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: This week’s favorite styling moment is brought to you by my last year’s Christmas decorations. Between moving and remodeling, I have not had time to put out one single thing, but am hoping to start on Sunday!
2. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: Almost instant Christmas decorating – swap a few every day pillow covers for holiday ones. Instead of changing every pillow, choose two or three and slip on Christmas pillow covers in your chosen color palette.
3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that the wishbone tradition dates back over 2,000 years? The ancient Romans believed birds were oracles of good fortune, and pulling the bone was said to bring luck.
4. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: Even though I haven’t done any decorating yet, I did purchase two of these Christmas pot fillers for my outdoor planters and I’m very happy with them. After doing a lot of research, looking at price, size, and quality these were the best. I also ordered the matching wreath for my front door.
5. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: Whether it’s a weeknight dinner or a special holiday meal, slow down and take a pause before serving to be truly present. Look around the table, breathe in the moment, and remember that sharing food is one of the sweetest ways to share love with friends and family. It is one of my favorite things in this world.

9. HOME HACK: On big cooking days like Thanksgiving, your fridge and oven can get crowded and this cooler hack could save the day. One clever hack: pre-chill a hard-sided cooler to stack cold dishes, or fill it with hot water, drain and line it with foil to act as a warming box. A genius tip when you are short on fridge or oven space.
10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5): Start with good fluffing and every branch counts! Then layer your decor: garlands or ribbon first, larger ornaments next, and smaller pieces to fill in gaps. Mixing matte, shiny, and textured finishes makes the tree look rich and dimensional.

In a large bowl, combine 6 cups leftover mashed potatoes with 4 cups leftover bread filling or stuffing. Melt 4 tablespoons butter and sauté 1 cup chopped onions and 1 cup chopped celery until soft, then mix into the potatoes and filling. Add 1 tablespoon parsley, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, and 2 beaten eggs, stirring well. Spread in the dish, dot with 2 tablespoons butter, and bake 45 to 55 minutes until hot and lightly browned.
10. THE LAST WORD: Happy Thanksgiving, friends- I’m so thankful for you! May your day be filled with countless blessings. xo
ANSWER TO #7: Bookkeeper! Black Friday gets its name for two reasons. Philadelphia police first used it to describe the heavy traffic, burden to law enforcement, and chaos after Thanksgiving. Later, retailers used it to mark when their sales moved from “in the red” to “in the black,” meaning they began turning a profit. Now you know!
