– Square Piece of Plywood (1/2? Thick) – Squares of Cotton Quilt Batting – Square Muslin Cloth – Rolls of Striped Ribbon – Upholstery Nails – Spray Adhesive – Fabric Sheers – Staple Gun – Command Strips

Supplies You'll Need to Make This DIY Memo Board

Step 1: Measure & Cut Cotton Backing

With a pencil, trace an outline of the plywood square on the batting, and then cut out the square shapes with sharp scissors.

Step 2: Glue to the Batting to Plywood

Attach both squares of cotton batting to the plywood using spray adhesive.

Step 3: Cover the Board & Batting With Fabric

Place the square of fabric over the batting, ensuring there is about 2" of fabric overhanging each side of the plywood.

Step 4: Staple Fabric in Place

On the top of the board, fold the fabric over onto the back of the plywood and secure with a staple. Continue stapling the fabric along the top of the board until it is secure.

Step 5: Add the Ribbon

This is the fun part and where you’ll see your vision come to life! Staple strands of ribbon across the board to create diamond shapes.

Step 6: Finish With Upholstery Nails

To finish the memo board, place an upholstery nail at each ribbon intersection. Simply push the nail in or use a hammer or mallet to secure.

Step 7: Hang Your Completed Ribbon Memo Board

With your DIY ribbon memo board complete, it’s time to hang it with command strips or sawtooth picture hangers.
