A quick and delicious twist on a classic treat. With just a few simple ingredients, you can transform a can of crescent rolls into warm, crispy churros coated in cinnamon sugar. These sweet bites are a fun, easy dessert to enjoy with family or friends, and especially great for Cinco de Mayo!
Follow the instructions on the crescent roll package to get your oven ready for baking.
Open the can of crescent rolls, separate the triangles, and then roll each triangle into a tight crescent shape.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake according to the package directions (usually for 10-12 minutes) until golden brown and puffed up.
While the crescent rolls bake, combine the mixture of white sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Once the crescent rolls are done, remove them from the oven and immediately brush them with melted butter.
Roll each warm crescent roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
If you're not a fan of a strong cinnamon flavor, feel free to use less cinnamon in the sugar mixture.
Don’t worry about making the crescent rolls perfect. The beauty of this recipe is its simplicity. They don’t need to be evenly shaped or rolled in a specific way, just have fun with it!
You can easily double the cinnamon sugar mixture and store it for future crescent roll churros or sprinkle on buttered toast.
After the crescent rolls are baked, brush them with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven. This will help the cinnamon sugar stick better.
These churros are best when served warm. They’ll stay soft and fluffy for a while, but the cinnamon sugar coating is crispest when fresh.
