Ingredients

Dill Seasoning

  • 2 tsp Dried Dill Weed
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper

Popcorn

  • 1/2 cup Popcorn Kernels 16 cups popped
  • 5 tbsp Unsalted Butter

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together the dill weed, garlic & onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Set the bowl aside.
  • Pop your popcorn kernels using your preferred method. You can use an air popper, stovetop, or microwave.
  • Make sure to remove any unpopped kernels and place the popped corn into a large mixing bowl.
  • While the popcorn is popping, in a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter. Microwave butter in 20 second intervals to avoid it splattering the microwave.
  • Pour the butter over the popped popcorn, gently toss and coat the popcorn evenly. Then sprinkle the dill seasoning evenly over the buttered popcorn until completely coated.
  • Transfer your dill pickle popcorn to a large serving bowl or individual portions for everyone to enjoy!

Notes

    • Freshness matters when it comes to popcorn. Check the expiration date on your popcorn package.
    • Choose plain, unseasoned popcorn kernels. Flavored or pre-seasoned popcorn may clash with the dill pickle flavor.
    • After popping, sift through the popcorn to remove any unpopped or partially popped kernels. You don't want any unpleasant surprises when you bite into your snack.
    • When combining the popcorn with the butter and seasonings, use a gentle tossing motion to ensure even distribution without crushing the popcorn.
    • Feel free to experiment with additional spices and seasonings. For a spicy twist, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. Or for a smoky flavor, a touch of paprika.
    • Dill pickle popcorn is best enjoyed fresh, so try to serve it shortly after making to maintain its ideal flavor & texture.
    • If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container to keep the popcorn crispy. However, keep in mind that the texture may soften over time.
