Ingredients

Crescents

  • 8 oz. Cream Cheese softened
  • 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Fresh Orange Zest
  • 2 cans 8 count Crescent Roll Dough

Glaze

  • 1 tbsp Butter melted
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Fresh Orange Zest
  • 2-3 tsp. Orange Juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and orange zest with a hand mixer until smooth.
  • Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  • With a spoon, spread an even amount of the cream cheese mixture between the 16 triangles.
  • Roll each triangle; starting at the widest point, and place each crescent onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake crescents for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While rolls bake in the oven, combine the glaze ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until smooth, adding orange juice a bit at a time, as needed.
  • Remove crescents from oven and immediately drizzle with glaze.
  • Serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

    • This recipe can be made with the lower fat crescent roll dough. I used Pillsbury butter flake crescent roll dough.
    • Either full fat cream cheese or 1/3 less fat cream cheese can be used to make these orange crescent rolls.
    • No vanilla extract? Almond extract is often used in this recipe. I did not have that on hand, so I used vanilla extract instead.
    • Make smaller versions of these orange crescent rolls by cutting each crescent roll triangle in half with a pizza cutter.
    • Don't love the flavor of orange? These rolls can be made with lemon, lime, or grapefruit zest. You could make these rolls for fall by omitting the citrus zest & juice and using pumpkin or apple pie spice for tasty fall treats. Your imagination is the limit with these rolls!
