Mini DIY Easter Treat Cups | Easy Easter Gift Idea
Create adorable mini DIY easter treat cups with egg cups, edible grass, chocolate bunnies, and mini eggs. Perfect for place settings on your Easter table!

My family does not like eggs.
Mr. ERH and I don’t mind scrambled eggs, but I have not been able to get our kids to eat any sort of cooked egg since they were babies (they are now 22 & 17).
So, when I saw these adorable glass egg cups on one of my many trips to Target, I couldn’t help but think of a new way to use them that did not involve real, chicken laid eggs.
If you didn’t know, the traditional use of these little cups is to hold soft-boiled eggs, but I had a different idea in mind…one that would still embrace the charm of these delicate cups while fitting our family’s tastes.
That’s when I came up with the idea of filling them with something sweet instead.
And, I am so excited at how cute these mini treat cups turned out!
They are a fun way to celebrate Easter, and they make the perfect gifts for family & friends.
I’ll show you how affordable and easy they are to make, plus they’re completely customizable with your favorite candies…you won’t find any real eggs here!

Step One: Start With Egg Cups
Gather the egg cups you’ll be using for this DIY project. This will be the foundation for your Easter gifts.
I found the glass egg cups I’m using for $1 in Target’s Dollar Spot, but feel free to use any egg cup you like.
Step Two: Add the Edible Easter Grass
Take your edible grass and gently pack it into the bottom of the egg cup, making sure to leave a bit of space at the top.

Pro Tip
- I found that the strands of edible Easter grass were tricky to keep in the egg cup, so I used a pair of scissors to cut them into shorter lengths. This made it much easier to arrange and work with.
Step Three: Place the Chocolate Bunny
Nestle a small chocolate bunny into the edible grass.

Step Four: Scatter the Mini Eggs
Take a few Cadbury mini eggs and scatter them around the bunny.
You want the eggs to look like they’ve just been playfully scattered by the Easter Bunny himself.

Step Five: Add Any Finishing Touches
If you want to make your treat cups extra special, you can tie a little ribbon around the base of the glass egg cup or around the neck of the candy bunny.
You could also place a mini tag with the name of the gift recipient or Easter message inside the cup as well.

Tips
- Don’t be afraid to mix and match candies like jelly beans, marshmallow chicks, or small chocolate eggs to keep things fun and colorful.
- If you can’t find edible Easter grass, you can use shredded coconut dyed green as a substitute. Just mix a few drops of green food coloring with the coconut and let it dry before adding it to your cups.
- Add a small, themed tag to each treat cup. You can print these out or even handwrite a note that says “Happy Easter” or “From the Easter Bunny.”
- Tie a cute gingham or Easter themed ribbon around the base of each egg cup for added texture and visual appeal.
Where can I find egg cups?
You can find egg cups at home decor stores, both online and in-person.
Many retailers offer seasonal Easter decorations, and so you should be able to find egg cups in their Easter or spring collections.
Also, online marketplaces like Etsy and handmade shops carry unique and vintage options.
If you’re having trouble finding traditional egg cups, you could also use small glass or ceramic cups, shot glasses, or even mini flower pots as alternatives.

Can I use regular Easter grass instead of edible grass?
No, it’s important to use edible grass for these Easter cups to make sure the treats are safe to eat.
You can find edible Easter grass in the seasonal section of most stores around Easter.
If for some reason you can’t find edible grass, you could use shredded coconut dyed green instead.

I’m glad you enjoyed this post Jane! Happy Easter!
This is so adorable. Target indicated shipping was not available and they were low in stock so I hopped in the car – these are just so cute and fun for grandkids too. There were still plenty of them left. Thank you so much for a sweet and creative idea for decorating the Easter table.
Thank you Cassandra! You made my day!!!
This is adorable. I have the cups, now for the edible grass.
I don’t sit down and look at blogs that often, but here I am. And I about spit my coffee out when you shared how old your children are.
You have such a youthful look about you! I never imagined you much older than your own children.
Thank you so much Jen!
These are just the cutest, Heidi! What a fun idea. I’m excited to share a link to your Easter treat cups on my weekly recap tomorrow!
