01
Fill the Terracotta Pot
Place a generous handful of the brown crinkle paper into the terracotta pot, filling it all the way to the top. This will resemble soil and help hold everything in place.

02
Prepare the Chocolate Carrots
Take two Lindt chocolate carrots and remove the plastic stick and hook from the top. Simply bend the plastic stick back and forth until the hook snaps off, then discard.
03
Add the Carrots to the Flower Pots
Push the two chocolate carrots into the crinkle paper with the Lindt labels facing toward the back of the pot. Leave a small portion of the orange carrot visible so it looks like the carrots are growing in the “dirt.”

04
Insert the Peter Rabbit Paper Cutout
Place one Peter Rabbit cutout into the crinkle paper in front of the chocolate carrots.

05
Place the Terracotta Pot Inside the Bag & Finish With Ribbon
Open a cellophane bag and carefully slide the terracotta pot inside, centering the pot at the bottom of the bag. Cut a piece of ribbon around 18″ long and wrap it around the top of the bag, leaving about an inch of cellophane above the ribbon. Tie the ribbon into a knot and finish with a simple bow. Trim the ribbon ends and fluff the top of the bag.

Helpful Tips
- Choose the right size pot. I found small 3 inch terracotta flower pots worked best for this project.
- Use brown crinkle paper for a realistic look. Kraft brown shredded paper resembles dirt inside the pot and makes the chocolate carrots look like they’re growing right out of the soil.
- Face the chocolate carrot labels toward the back of the pot so the front looks more natural and vegetable garden like.
- Feel free to mix and match ribbon colors. You could also use pastel Easter ribbon, twine, or even kitchen string.

DIY Easter Gift Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use different chocolate for this Easter party favor?
Lindt chocolate carrots work great for this project, but you could also use other carrot shaped chocolates or small wrapped candies instead.
What size terracotta pots work best?
Small 3″ terra cotta pots are perfect because they are small enough for a party favor while still holding the chocolate carrots nicely.
Do I have to include the Peter Rabbit cutout?
You don’t have to. The rabbit cutout adds a cute touch, but you could easily replace it with another chocolate carrot or a small Easter pick.
Can I make these DIY Easter gifts ahead of time?
Absolutely. These favors can be assembled a few days in advance and stored in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to gift them.
Can these be used as Easter table decorations?
Oh, 100%! These terracotta pot favors look adorable placed at each place setting on an Easter table or displayed on a buffet for guests to take home.
