DIY Fall Soap Dispenser: An Easy 2-Minute Decorating Idea
Shop This Post
Create a DIY fall soap dispenser in minutes with clear soap and acrylic fall shapes for a simple way to add coziness to your home.

I bet when you think about decorating for fall, you picture wreaths on the front door, pumpkins on the porch, throw blankets draped over the couch, scented candles, and bowls of apples on the kitchen counter.
I love all of those things, and they’re exactly what I look forward to decorating with each fall.
But I’ve also found that some of the coziest seasonal touches aren’t the obvious decorations…they’re in the little details.
This fall soap dispenser is the perfect example.
In literally two minutes, you can transform an ordinary soap dispenser into a piece of fall decor by adding clear soap and a handful of acrylic fall shapes.
It’s inexpensive, takes almost no effort, and proves that decorating for fall doesn’t have to mean hauling out all the fall bins or buying a new collection of decor.
Sometimes, the smallest changes are the ones that make your home the coziest.

Step One: Pour the liquid hand soap into a clean soap dispenser until it’s about halfway full.

Step Two: Add the acrylic fall shapes to the dispenser, letting them settle naturally throughout the soap.

Step Three: Top off the dispenser with more soap, making sure to leave a little space for the pump before sealing it.

Step Four: Screw the pump back onto the dispenser, then place it on your bathroom, laundry room, or kitchen counter.
Helpful Tips
- Clear liquid soap and a clear dispenser work best so you can see the acrylic shapes.
- Use what you have. If you don’t have clear hand soap, clear dish soap works just as well.
- Don’t add too many pieces, just a handful is enough.
- Choose larger shapes that won’t block the pump.
- Feel free to use a funnel to cleanly and easily fill the dispenser with soap.

- Pour the remaining soap into another container or use it up until the dispenser is nearly empty.
- Remove the pump and fill the dispenser with warm water to loosen any soap residue.
- Dump out the acrylic shapes. If a few get stuck, use a skewer or a chopstick to gently remove them.
- Wash the dispenser and acrylic shapes with warm, soapy water, then let everything dry completely before storing.
- Store the acrylic shapes in a Ziploc baggie or labeled container so they’re ready to use again next fall.
Frequently Asked Questions About a DIY Fall Soap Dispenser
Can I use any soap dispenser for this?
A clear glass, acrylic, or plastic dispenser works best since it shows off the acrylic shapes. Opaque or ceramic dispensers will hide them completely, so save this trick for your clear ones.
Can I use foaming hand soap?
Yes, just be sure to use clear foaming soap if you want the acrylic pieces to show through.
Where do you find mini acrylic fall shapes?
I found mine on Amazon but you can also usually find them in craft stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby in their seasonal aisles.
Will the acrylic shapes clog the pump?
As long as they’re larger than the pump opening they shouldn’t interfere with dispensing the soap.
Can I reuse the acrylic decorations?
Absolutely. Rinse them off when you’re ready to switch seasons and store for next year.
