Suzy | Worthing Court

Worthing Court Weekly Wednesday Wish List #248 kitchen counter.

1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: It’s very difficult to find pretty blue and white chinoiserie canisters that have a wide mouth. These fit the bill very nicely! The lids do not have seals, so you’ll want to consider that when storing any dry goods. For me, it’s the perfect spot for my coffee pods and tea bags.

2. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: Display a few pieces of white pottery or ironstone on open shelves or a cabinet. The simple shapes and bright finish help lighten a space and pair beautifully with early spring greenery.

3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know turning on bathroom exhaust fans during showers helps prevent mildew buildup? Running the fan for ten minutes afterward keeps moisture from lingering.

4. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: Looking for a way to pretty up those boxes of tissues? I recently purchased this Lily Pulitzer tissue paper holder for our main bathroom and I couldn’t be happier with how it elevated such a humble little spot. You can find it HERE on my Amazon Home Favorites page.

5. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: Call someone you’ve been meaning to check on. A simple conversation can brighten both of your days.

6. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “I love spring decorating, but I don’t want my home to look overly seasonal. What should I focus on?” See #10 for the answer!

7. WEEKLY AWESOME FINDS:

  • This green woven leopard bolster pillow is such a fun way to mix pattern and texture, adding a playful yet polished accent to a sofa, chair, or bed.
  • I think this sweet ceramic sitting bunny adds a simple touch of spring charm to a mantel, bookshelf, or tabletop display and looks lovely mixed with your favorite seasonal accents.
  • natural rattan ottoman brings such warm texture and easy charm to a living room or bedroom, perfect as a footrest, extra seating, or a casual accent piece.
  • These embossed floral cocottes with delicate gold insect details are such charming pieces for serving and baking, bringing a touch of old-world elegance to your table.
  • This cozy three-seat wicker patio sofa like this creates such an inviting spot for morning coffee or relaxed evenings outdoors, with deep cushions that make lingering a little longer feel just right.
  • wall sconce with a woven shade and warm brass finish adds such inviting texture and soft glow to a hallway, bedroom, or cozy reading nook.
  • Ribbed wood trays bring warm, natural texture to a coffee table or kitchen counter and are perfect for styling candles, serving drinks, or corralling everyday essentials.
  • heathered lumbar pillow with crochet trim adds soft texture and relaxed charm to both indoor and outdoor seating, making any space feel a little more comfortable and inviting.

8. WEARABLE STYLE:

  • This linen fit and flare midi dress feels effortlessly graceful and cool for warm days, with a flattering shape that’s easy to dress up or keep simple for everyday outings.
  • Comfortable memory foam sandals like these are a warm-weather essential, giving you an easy, polished look while keeping your feet happy all day long.
  • This pinstripe cotton-linen double-breasted blazer adds instant polish to any outfit, with a light, breathable feel that’s perfect for layering through the seasons.
  • sleeveless tiered dress like this is an easy warm-weather favorite, light and comfortable with a relaxed shape that still looks nicely put together for everyday wear.

9. HOME HACK: Clean baseboards with a sock on your hand. Slip an old sock over your hand, lightly dampen it, and run it along baseboards. It’s faster than using a cloth and makes it easy to reach into corners.

10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5):  Instead of obvious seasonal items, focus on color and texture. Soft blues, greens, whites, and natural materials like wicker or rattan always feel appropriate for spring. These touches blend beautifully with your everyday decor and create a fresh look that lasts beyond the season.

8. CURATED CLOSET:

9. CULINARY CORNER: Corned Beef Hash: Cook 2 1/2 cups peeled and diced potatoes in water for about 10 minutes, until fork tender, drain. Coarsely chop 1 lb. unsliced cooked corned beef in the food processor. Heat 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 cup chopped onion and 2 cloves of finely chopped garlic; cook for 5 minutes. Add potatoes, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper, cook until potatoes are soft. Reduce heat to low, add corned beef, 2 tsp. coarse-grained prepared mustard, and 2 Tbsp. butter. Press into the skillet and cook until browned; turn in sections and brown the other side.

10. THE LAST WORD: Include a packet of easy-to-grow vegetables (radishes, lettuce, spinach) to each place setting at your Easter table. Repot an herb (parsley, thyme, chives) in a pretty pot and give it as a hostess gift.

ANSWER TO #7: The original color associated with St. Patrick was blue. St. Patrick’s real name was Maewyn Succat, but he changed it to Patricius, meaning “nobleman” or “father figure,” after becoming a priest.
