It felt fitting to start this week’s wish list with a reminder that creating a cozy home doesn’t have to mean constantly buying new things.

Some of the most meaningful spaces are layered with pieces that have a story, a past, or a purpose beyond just filling a space.

This time of year especially always inspires me to be a little more intentional.

To open the windows, freshen things up, and look at what I already have with a new perspective.

A simple restyle, a secondhand find, or even bringing a bit of the outdoors in can completely change the way a home feels.

This week’s wish list reflects all of that…cozy ideas, collected decor, and a few beautiful finds I couldn’t resist sharing.

How do you remove a piece of pasta from a pot of boiling water to test whether it is done? Use chopsticks to pluck a piece out.
How do you chill a glass of wine without watering it down? Freeze grapes and use them instead of ice cubes.
How can I keep plastic wrap from sticking to itself? Put it in the fridge. Cold plastic wrap is easier to handle and less likely to stick to itself when covering food.

9. CULINARY CORNER: Don’t waste the last bits of food like jam, pesto, or mayonnaise in the bottom of a jar. Use it to make a quick vinaigrette. Add vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper. Shake the jar well to mix. Pour over your salad for a burst of flavor, or use it as a marinade. This simple trick turns scraps into a tasty dressing.
