This week’s Wish List is full of all kinds of cozy inspiration including simple patriotic decorating ideas, the cutest DIY votives made with temporary tattoos (yes you read that right, temporary tattoos), mini cherry pies that are almost too cute to eat, summer wardrobe finds I’m loving, and a free cookout planner to help make hosting feel less overwhelming this year.

I’m also sharing a cozy tip for making your own all-natural citronella candles because apparently the bugs have received the memo that warmer weather has arrived here in New England.

9. CULINARY CORNERAny Fruit Crisp: Preheat oven to 425°F. Butter a 9×13 baking dish. Add 7 cups cut fruit, 2 Tbsp granulated sugar, 2 Tbsp cornstarch, and 1/2 tsp kosher salt; toss. In a bowl, mix 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats, 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar, and 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. Stir in 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit. Bake 30–35 minutes, until golden and bubbling. Rest 10 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

ANSWER TO #7: May’s birthstone is an emerald, and flowers are lily of the valley and hawthorn. Memorial Day, once known as Decoration Day, began in 1868, when the graves of Civil War soldiers, both northern and southern, were decorated with flowers and flags. Now you know.
