Apparently, I have entered my farm animal era.

Sheep on a cardigan? Bought it.

Matching sheep tote bag? Obviously.

At this point, I don’t know what’s happening, but I’m just going with it.

And that pretty much sums up this week’s Wish List, a slightly random collection of all the things that are making me happy right now.

There are cozy clothes I probably didn’t need but couldn’t leave behind, a tapestry I’m excited to hang in our living room, some really beautiful (and surprisingly affordable) throw pillows, faux pumpkins you need to see at Michaels, and a pumpkin candle that found its way into my cart.

I’m also sharing one of my favorite reminders when it comes to decorating this time of year…little things count.

You don’t need to spend hours changing your home for a new season.

Cut a few hydrangeas from the yard and tuck them into a vintage creamer.

Add a cozy pillow to the couch.

Put a pumpkin Dutch oven on the stove.

Five minutes here and there can make your home feel completely different.

7. FUN AND INTERESTING FACTS: How many new cells do you produce in a second? What pet did Andrew Jackson, our 7th president, have?

8. CURATED CLOSET: FALL FAVOURITES

9. CULINARY CORNER: Brown Butter Maple Apple Crisp: Brown butter until nutty. In a bowl, mix 6 peeled, sliced apples, ¼ cup maple syrup, 2 tbsp flour, 1½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp vanilla, and a pinch of salt; spread in a 9×9 dish. In another bowl, mix ¾ cup oats, ¾ cup flour, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ cup pecans, and a pinch of salt; stir in brown butter and crumble over apples. Bake at 375°F for 35 to 40 minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

10. THE LAST WORD: Vintage or well-loved decor pieces are some of the best accents to use in fall decorating without pumpkins. They bring history, warmth, and a sense of story that pairs beautifully with other seasonal items. For more, see Fall Decorating Without Pumpkins: Warm and Inviting Ideas.

ANSWER TO #7: A human person produces about 2.8 million new cells a second. Andrew Jackson had a pet parrot named Poll that had to be removed from his funeral for reciting a stream of profanities that his owner taught him.
