I don’t know what it is about the start of a new month, but September feels like someone hit the reset button.

Maybe it’s all those years of back-to-school seasons with the kids ingrained in my brain.

There’s something about September that makes me want to get back into a routine, tackle a few things around the house, and make something comforting in the kitchen.

In this week’s Wish List, I’m thinking about all the little ways to make our home feel cozier, searching for new flannel sheets for our bedroom, adding new pieces to my closet from a new brand, and getting very excited that apple season is officially here.

I’ve also got some beautiful finds for your home, a super simple decorating trick for making cluttered surfaces feel more intentional, a new recipe you’ll definitely want to save for the holidays, and a September edition of Would You Rather.

1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: With the completion of pillows on the banquette, I’ve been enjoying the cozy vibes in the breakfast area in the kitchen this week.

9. CULINARY CORNER: Apple Crumble: Preheat oven to 375°F and spray a 9-inch baking dish. Whisk 1 cup flour, ¾ cup brown sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp cinnamon, then stir in 8 Tbs melted butter until crumbly. Combine 2 ½ pounds sliced Granny Smith apples, ½ cup sugar, 1 Tbs lemon juice, 2 Tbs cornstarch, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp cinnamon, and spread into the dish. Top with the crumble and bake 35 to 45 minutes, until bubbling and golden. Cool 15 minutes before serving, with ice cream if desired.
