How to Make a Refreshing Sweet Peach Iced Tea
Let me show you how to make peach tea that combines the delicate flavors of peaches with the crispness of freshly brewed tea to create a quintessential summer beverage.

Iced tea is my favorite beverage all year long. I have a glass of it every single morning, 365 days a year.
I’m not exactly sure how my love of iced tea came to be, but I do remember my mom making sun tea as a child and loving the bitterness and freshness of a glass of homemade tea brewed in the sun.
Unsweetened black iced tea is my drink of choice, however I like to treat myself to a glass of sweet tea every so often. It’s fun to shake things up every once in a while…right?!
Since fresh peaches are my favorite summertime fruit, I thought I would combine two of my favorites; sweet peaches and tea to create a sweet, delicious, and refreshing beverage that’s perfect to sip on a hot summer day.

Making sweet ice tea at home is incredibly easy and tastes so much better than the prepared sweet teas you’ll find at the grocery stores. Those teas are full of sugar, artificial flavors, and preservatives. Yuck!
By following my simple recipe, you can create a delicious homemade version of sweet tea that far surpasses anything you can buy at a store. Grab a few ripe peaches, your favorite tea, and let the flavors of sweet peach iced tea cool you down to beat the summer heat.
Why You’ll Want to Make This Peach Tea Recipe
The ability to customize the flavors, control the sweetness, and enjoy the freshness of homemade ingredients are just a few reasons why crafting this delightful drink at home is worth the time & effort.

- Freshness & Natural Flavor: By making sweet peach iced tea at home, you have full control over the quality and freshness of the ingredients unlike what you’ll purchase at the store.
- Customizable Sweetness: Everyone’s taste preferences vary, and when you make your own sweet peach iced tea, you have the freedom to adjust the sweetness level to your liking.
- Healthier Option: Commercially prepared iced teas often contain added preservatives, artificial flavors, and excessive sugar. By creating your own peach iced tea, you can opt for healthier alternatives.
- Cost Effective: Making your own homemade peach tea is a budget friendly alternative to purchasing premade beverages. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also have more control over the quantity and quality of your ingredients.
- Versatile & Adaptable: You can experiment with different types of tea; such as black tea, white tea, green tea, or herbal tea for this recipe. Also, you can swap out peaches for fresh strawberries for a different flavor or try using ripe mangoes for a tropical version.

A Few Things to Consider When Making Homemade Peach Tea
- Selecting the Right Peaches: Choose ripe, juicy peaches for the best peach flavor. Look for peaches that are slightly soft to the touch, with vibrant color and a sweet aroma. This will ensure that your peach iced tea is bursting with natural sweetness.
- Adjusting the Sugar: If you prefer a more bitter tea, reduce the amount of sugar in this recipe. Remember, it’s easier to add more sugar if needed, but difficult to reduce it once it’s added.
- Make Ahead for Convenience: If you’re hosting a gathering or want to make your iced tea ahead of time, prepare a big batch in advance. Keep it refrigerated until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld together for the best refreshing drink.

Different Ways to Make Iced Peach Tea
The fun thing about making beverages at home is that you can use different ingredients to create your own one of a kind summer drink. The possibilities of what you can create are endless, here are a few ideas.
- Substitute the peaches with fresh pineapple chunks or mangoes for a tropical flair.
- Replace peaches with a mix of your favorite berries; such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
- Instead of peaches, use a combination of citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and limes. Slice the fruits and muddle them slightly to release their juices, then combine with the tea for a zesty & tangy flavor.
- Explore alternative sweeteners such as honey, agave syrup, stevia, or maple syrup to add a touch of sweetness to your peach iced tea.
- Infuse your peach iced tea with ginger by adding a few slices of fresh ginger to the tea while it steeps. The subtle heat of ginger complements the sweetness of peaches, creating a refreshing & slightly spicy blend.
- Experiment with your favorite black tea or different types of tea like chamomile, hibiscus, or lavender. These herbal teas bring unique flavors and aromatic qualities to your peach iced tea, making it a soothing and calming beverage.
- Add a splash of sparkling water or soda to your peach iced tea for a fizzy twist.
- For an adult version, add a splash of your preferred spirit to your sweet peach iced tea. Vodka, rum, or bourbon can add a delightful kick and transform your drink into a refreshing adult summer cocktail.

How long will iced peach tea last?
Properly stored, iced peach tea can last for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
Remember, homemade beverages are made without preservatives so they typically have a shorter shelf life compared to store bought alternatives.
