Each holiday season, I look for inspiration on which homemade Christmas gift I can create for family & friends. I love thinking of & creating a new homemade gift ideas each year to gift my loved ones! There are a couple of requirements when I’m brainstorming the perfect homemade gift idea; it has to be easy for me to make, something anyone would love (gender neutral, non-age specific), and include natural ingredients.
Some of the homemade gifts I’ve made in previous years include vanilla extract (I still get requests for more of that), cinnamon dough ornaments, Christmas cookies, and stovetop potpourri.
This year I stumbled upon coconut oil sugar scrubs and decided this would be the perfect homemade gift of 2022. My family fell in love with sugar scrubs many years ago while in Disney. We found a store in one of the Disney resorts that sold sugar hand scrubs, and so every time we walked by, we had to “test” the sugar scrubs! It made our hands feel so soft. What You Need to Make Christmas Sugar Cookie Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub
- Granulated Sugar
- Organic Coconut Oil
- Red, Green, & White Nonpareil Sprinkles
- Therapeutic Grade Vanilla Essential Oil
- Microwavable Safe Bowl
- 4 oz. Mason Jars
- Bakers Twine
- Small Wooden Spoons

How to Make Christmas Cookie Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub
1. Melt coconut oil in a small microwave safe bowl.
2. Stir in vanilla essential oil.

3. Add sugar and mix well.
4. Mix in sprinkles, scoop into mason jars, and cover with lid.

5. Tie mason jars with bakers twine & add wooden spoon.
How to Store Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub
Store coconut oil sugar scrub in an airtight container, such as a mason jar to ensure the scrub stays fresh and maintains its hydrating features.

How long does coconut oil sugar scrub last?
Coconut oil sugar scrub is best when used right away but will last 6 months or longer when stored properly.
Do the nonpareils melt when mixed into the sugar scrub?
They do not. After 6 months the nonpareils may start to melt or bleed but it will take some time for that to happen.

Can you use other essential oils?
Of course! You can completely change the scent of the sugar scrub by using a different essential oil. Here are some festive essential oils you could use, just be sure to use therapeutic grade oils!
- Peppermint
- Cinnamon
- Orange
- Pine

Can you substitute coconut oil?
Yes. Olive oil, grapeseed oil, and almond oil are all good options for sugar scrubs.
How do you use coconut oil sugar scrubs?
Use this sugar scrub all over your body! It works great for moisturizing hands, elbows, knees, and feet while in the shower. Or keep a jar by the kitchen or bathroom sink for use after washing hands to moisturize.

Christmas Sugar Cookie Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub

- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Organic Coconut Oil
- 1 tbsp Red, Green, & White Nonpareils
- 6 drops Therapeutic Grade Vanilla Essential Oil
Other Supplies
- Microwave Safe Bowl
- 6 4 oz. Mason Jars
- Bakers Twine
- Small Wooden Spoons
Instructions
- In a small microwave safe bowl, melt the coconut oil for about 30-40 seconds.
- Add 6 drops essential oil to melted coconut oil, mix.
- Add granulated sugar to the coconut/essential oil blend and mix well.
- Mix in sprinkles and scoop into 4 oz. mason jars.
- Cover with lid, tie a bow with bakers twine, and add wooden spoon.
