Mr. ERH and I are back home after a week away in Qgunquit, Maine, and I have to say, I think I needed that little break more than I realized.

Somehow I always forget that even just a few days away gives my brain a chance to reset and recharge my creativity.

We came home rested and very happy to be back in our own little corner of the world.

Because as much as I love going away, you know I love coming home even more!

And now that we’re home, I’m feeling extra excited about these last couple of weeks of August.

I’m not quite ready to rush summer out the door, but I’m definitely leaning into fall…burning a pumpkin candle, adding a few more warmer touches around the house, thinking about football season, and as always adding way too many things to my online carts.

In this week’s Wish List, I’ve got some beautiful fall finds for your home, a few pieces I’m eyeing for my fall wardrobe, three ways to use up all that zucchini coming out of the garden, my ridiculously easy way to dry hydrangeas, and an end-of-summer potluck idea that’s perfect for soaking up these last few weeks of the season.

2. COZY TIP OF THE WEEK: Take a break! Mr. ERH and I are back from our vacation in Maine and it’s amazing what even a few days away can do for your mind and soul. We came home feeling rested, recharged, and grateful for the simple things.

3. AMAZON FINDS: Shop cozy finds I’m loving on Amazon.

4. LITTLE THINGS I’M LOVING:

  • This woven pumpkin looks like something you’d find at an antique store. The shape is fabulous!
  • I love that this wooden riser can also be used as a cookbook stand.
  • I’ve been burning this pumpkin spice candle on repeat. (Use code Heidi20 for 20% off your order.)
  • The easiest way to dress any kitchen or dining room table.
  • This curtain wood hutch is GORGEOUS!!!
  • Don’t have real hydrangeas in your yard? This faux arrangement or this one are a great alternative.
  • Cock-a-doodle-doo…the cutest candy jar I’ve ever seen! NEED.
  • When I saw the lampshade on this LED lamp, it was an instant add to cart.

5. FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS: If your garden is overflowing with zucchini right now, I’ve got you covered with 3 recipes you’re going to love…mini zucchini bread loaves, grilled marinated zucchini with a honey Dijon marinade, and a light and flavorful lemon butter ricotta zucchini pasta that’s made in one pot.

6. UPDATING MY WARDROBE:

  • Check out the chic collar on this utility jacket.
  • Everyone needs a pair of bootcut jeans in their closet for fall.
  • I don’t know why but nothing says fall to me more than a polo shirt.
  • The yellow plaid on this handbag is an absolute must this fall.

7. MAKE THIS WITH ME: I tried every hydrangea drying method out there and was frustrated every single time, until I finally threw out all the complicated steps and tried this lazy girl approach instead.

8. OVER ON THE ‘GRAM: My Ideal Weekend: This and not having anywhere to be.

9. WEEKLY MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:

10. END OF SUMMER POTLUCK: There’s no easier way to entertain than with a casual outdoor potluck. This complete guide walks you through everything from choosing a theme to setting the table. Suzy | Worthing Court

Weekly Wednesday Wish List #270 Worthing Court living room side chair.

1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: Last year, renovations kept fall decorating to a minimum, so I’m looking back to our last fall in our previous home for inspiration this year.

2. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: Give a room a more finished look by paying attention to the space above tall furniture. A pretty basket, large piece of pottery, or a pair of decorative objects on top of an armoire or cabinet can help fill an awkward gap and draw the eye upward.

3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that butterflies sometimes gather on damp soil or around puddles to drink water and collect minerals? You can create a simple butterfly “puddling station” with a shallow dish filled with sand, a little soil, and water.

4. FAVORITE PURCHASE: I stumbled across the most beautiful fall wreath! It’s a great size and a reasonable price. I can’t wait to see it hanging on my door.

Find all of my purchased and loved decorating, gadget, and organizing favorites HERE .

5. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: Turn on lamps instead of overhead lights in the evening and let your home begin to quiet down with the setting sun. Soft lighting creates an atmosphere that invites rest and connection.

6. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “August always feels too early for fall decor, but I’m tired of summer. What can I do?” See #10 for the answer!

7. WEEKLY AWESOME FINDS:

  • This upholstered swivel chair offers a cozy place to sit without sacrificing style.
  • The scalloped silhouette gives this wall mirror a charming look that feels both classic and fresh.
  • This pine end table has a warm, traditional look and offers handy storage for everyday essentials.
  • This pair of heron prints would bring graceful color and a touch of nature to a wall.

8. WEARABLE STYLE:

9. HOME HACK: Did you know that you can revive wilted hydrangeas by completely submerging the blooms in cool water? Hydrangeas can actually absorb water through their petals, so a good soak can sometimes bring droopy blooms back to life.

10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5):  Think of August as a transition month instead of jumping straight into fall. Put away anything that feels especially summery and bring in warmer neutrals, natural wood tones, woven textures, and plenty of greenery. You’ll get that cozy feeling.

Cook until chicken is tender. Stir in 2 cups chopped spinach until wilted. Serve.
