Remove from heat, add in Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well combined and the cereal is evenly coated in the marshmallow mixture.

Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and evenly press the Rice Krispie treats mixture into the prepared pan.

Place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden.

Place white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl, and melt in the microwave according to package directions.

Add the melted white chocolate into a ziplock bag (or piping bag) and cut a small slit in the corner.

Drizzle the chocolate across the top of the mummies in a random pattern to resemble a mummy wrap. Repeat with additional Rice Krispie treats.

Allow the chocolate to harden and set, then enjoy!

Tips
  • Fresh marshmallows melt more smoothly and evenly than old ones. Make sure your marshmallows are not expired or stale for the best results.
  • When melting the butter and marshmallows, use low heat and stir continuously to prevent them from scorching or sticking to the pan.
  • Once you add the Rice Krispies to the marshmallow mixture, work quickly to combine them. The mixture can become harder to shape as it cools.
  • Allow the mummies to cool and set on the parchment paper before decorating. This will prevent the chocolate from melting upon contact.
  • Consider adding a touch of vanilla extract or almond extract to the melted marshmallow mixture for extra flavor.
  • Don’t be afraid to get creative with your mummy designs. Each one can have its own unique look. Some can be heavily wrapped with “bandages,” while others can have just a few strategically placed lines.
  • When done, soak your utensils and pan in hot, soapy water immediately to make cleaning easy peasy. The marshmallow mixture can harden quickly and be challenging to remove.

Storing Rice Krispie Treats

Store your mummy shaped Rice Krispie Treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a few days.

To keep them fresh longer, you can also individually wrap them in plastic wrap or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

What other shapes can I make these Rice Krispie treats into for Halloween?

There are endless possibilities for creating fun treats in spooky shapes for Halloween.

Here are some fun Halloween Rice Krispie treats to get your creative juices flowing:

  • Pumpkins: Shape the Rice Krispie mixture into small, round pumpkins and use orange food coloring to give them a pumpkin like appearance. Add a small piece of green licorice or green candy for the stem.
  • Ghosts: Form the mixture into ghostly shapes and use white chocolate or white candy melts to create a smooth ghostly coating. Add small black candy eyes or use mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth.
  • Witches’ Hats: Shape the treats into conical shapes for witch hats. Dip the tips in melted dark chocolate or black candy melts and add a colorful icing belt around the base.
  • Bats: Create bat-shaped treats by cutting out bat wings from the Rice Krispie mixture using a bat shaped cookie cutter. Then, use melted dark chocolate to coat the bats and add small candy eyes.
  • Candy Corns: Create candy corn inspired treats by layering orange, yellow, and white Rice Krispie mixtures in a triangle shape. You can also drizzle colored icing on top for a more authentic candy corn look.

Remember, the key to creating these fun shapes is to use your imagination and have fun with the decorating process.

You can mix and match these ideas to create a variety of spooky and delicious treats for your Halloween celebrations.
